The Halloween on the High Seas specialty cruise on the Disney Magic was a new adventure for us. Disney is known for their focus on providing a family-friendly experience that is magical for kids of all ages. This sailing is part Halloween party and Pirate party at sea.

The staff was very attentive to all of our family’s needs, even helping us out with a lost key card.

The Itinerary we went on went to Nassau, Castaway Cay, and the new Disney beach Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. The established ports were as to be expected for long term destinations and Castaway Cay provided simplicity by all souvenirs and such were easily charged to our account on the ship. While Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point had the same simplicity as Castaway Cay, it is easy to see the effects of the construction. Some of the plants were still very young and needed supports and the irrigation to them were all very visible. The wildlife that is mentioned in the tram narration has not yet become used to the influx of tourists.

The Character photo ops are limited time so be prepared for lines. When you happen to be in a line that ends early with nothing going on for the character you can get unique interactions.

The dinner shows are all well executed and very nice. The actors in these shows will happily interact with the diners. Our wait staff was the same throughout our cruise and went above and beyond to try and make sure everyone had meals they enjoyed.

When moving about the ship, remember to keep your eyes open for characters moving about the ship!!
